Up Paris: Inauguration of the Invincible David Lynch University

18 November 2007

On 18 November 2007, internationally acclaimed filmmaker David Lynch completed his European tour for Consciousness-Based Education by revisiting Paris, the city where his tour began. During the earlier visit, 1 October 2007, French President Nicolas Sarkozy acknowledged Dr Lynch's contributions to the arts by decorating him with the distinguished Legion of Honour, the French government's most prestigious civilian award. (Please visit: 'Dr David Lynch awarded highest civilian honour of France, the Legion of Honour'.)

Dr Dominique Lemoine, National Leader of the Global Country of World Peace for France, said that Dr Lynch returned to Paris for a flag-raising ceremony to inaugurate the Invincible David Lynch University, an institution dedicated to creating invincibility for every student and lasting peace for the world through group practice of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme

The flag-raising ceremony took place at Jardin des Tuileries, a beautiful park located near the Seine river between the Place de la Concorde and the Louvre. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a delegation of dignataries and supporters of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Worldwide Transcendental Meditation Movement. A film crew was on hand to film the event for a documentary Dr Lynch is making about this historic European tour. Dr Lemoine noted that this ceremony marked a new beginning for France and the conclusion of a very successful European tour for world peace.
