8 October 2007 Students attending schools in Puno, high in the Andes Mountains on the eastern shores of Lake Titicaca, Peru, enjoy the distinction of living near the world's highest elevated lake. At more than 3,800 metres (12,500 feet) above sea level, Puno's schools are amongst the highest in the world. Now these students are set to rise even higher! Earlier reports have discussed the rise of invincibility in Peru, as school and university students learned Transcendental Meditation and practised together in their classrooms. Now, a deeper and even more profound step has been accomplished, as the students complete the final stages of instruction in the TM-Sidhi Programme. Soon there will be more than 700 Yogic Flyers in the schools of Puno. It was due to the foresight and wisdom of Padre Francisco Quenta, the school principal who understood the value of the practice, that so many students were able to learn Transcendental Meditation. Further support and co-operation from the schoolteachers have provided students the time to practise daily in their classrooms. Each teacher has generously allowed five minutes from class time, in order that the two periods required for daily practice can easily fit into the school schedule. Teachers conducting the TM-Sidhi courses, comment on the ease and simplicity with which the students receive instruction and follow the practice. People in the environs of the school have also remarked on the very tangible silence in the air as the students practise their meditation together each day. The schoolteachers have also learned and are greatly enjoying the results. Together, the students and faculty will become a lighthouse of coherence and positivity for their country. It is through their daily practice that true invincibility and lasting peace will be created for Peru. Copyright © 2007 Global Good News (sm) Service |
