On a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat Raja Willem Meijles, Raja of Invincible Poland for the Global Country of World Peace, spoke about his visit to Poland and the success of education conferences held there.

Dr Ashley Deans, Ambassador of the Global Country of World Peace for Consciousness-Based Education and Executive Director of Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, spoke to 140 educators in Warsaw, Poland. This presentation on Consciousness-Based Education was organized by a government organization for teachers. The presentations were attended by many teachers, directors, and principals from schools and universities all over Poland.

The theme of the conference was developing the hidden talents in students. Everyone was very interested and inspired by Dr Deans' talk, Raja Willem said. Following the lecture they were divided by groups into workshops. This presentation was set up as a result of a press conference held earlier this year in Warsaw, attended by three representatives of a government organization for improvement in teaching skills.

A conference was also held in Lodz, the second largest city in Poland, with a population of one million. This was attended by 80 teachers and principals, and was organized by a very innovative centre for the advancement of teachers' skills, which is open to new information and technologies for improving teaching in the country.

A press conference was held following this education conference, attended by national television and the main newspaper and other journalists, many of which conducted long interviews.

About 15 schools are now seriously interested in implementing Consciousness-Based Education in Poland. Raja Willem reports a surprising increase of teachers wishing to learn Transcendental Meditation and schools interested in Consciousness-Based Education.

The Vice-Chancellor of one leading university, which has many students and faculty, recently spoke to the two National Directors of the Global Country for Poland, and was keen to organize a conference that would include presentations by Raja John Hagelin and Dr Fred Travis, and also Dr David Lynch, who is very popular in Poland. A DVD was shown to the Vice Chancellor of Raja Hagelin, Dr Lynch, and Dr Travis, which included a live demonstration of brain wave research. The theme of this presentation was 'Consciousness, creativity, and total brain functioning'.

Commenting on the significance of these developments, Raja Willem said, 'This was a new awakening for Poland.'
