25 November 2010 The 50th anniversary celebration of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's first visit to Norway inspired tremendous interest in Transcendental Meditation and focus on creating invincible peace and progress in the nation. This historic event became widely known through the visit of filmmaker Dr David Lynch and extensive newspaper, magazine, and television media coverage, inspiring many people to learn the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and creating a great wave of interest and enthusiasm for Transcendental Meditation throughout the nation. Celebrations were held at an elegant hotel where Maharishi first taught the Transcendental Meditation Programme in 1960, as well as at Norway's beautiful Maharishi Invincibility Centre.* Festivities included raising the Flag of Invincibility, a presentation of highlights of Maharishi's achievements for peace, harmony, and progress in Norway, and the inauguration of the Institute of World Peace. As part of the celebration practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying participated in group practice of these peace-creating technologies. Plans are in process to establish a permanent group of Yogic Flyers?on land that has already been acquired—which will create a powerful influence of peace and coherence for Norway. During his two and a half day visit Dr Lynch gave profound presentations on benefits of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, inspiring government leaders and young people alike. (read more) |
