| 19 April 2011 In many cases, especially involving homeless youth, the courts have sent offenders to Father Meija as an alternative to prison. From the time of introducing the Transcendental Meditation Programme into Father Mejia's youth centres, performance evaluation of the various rehabilitation programmes by the government has shown a qualitative leap in the success of the project, and an effective way to break the cycle of repeat offense and incarceration. |
