27 August 2014 A great step for world peace has been achieved in Ireland with the inauguration of the country's first Maharishi Peace Palace, located on the Island of World Peace, off the west coast of the country. Ireland also has the distinction of being home to the second Maharishi Peace Palace to be built in Europe.* It will serve as a home for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's knowledge and programmes for full human development. In 2005 Maharishi explained that the effect of coherence and harmony created by groups of people practising Transcendental Meditation and the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme in Ireland would create a lasting influence of peace for the world. He recommended that people from every country who practise these peace-creating technologies of consciousness come to the Island of World Peace, stay in buildings designed according to Maharishi Vastu architecture, and gain the benefit of courses in the full range of knowledge offered there. Visitors comment on the beauty of the new Maharishi Peace Palace and of the natural setting on the Island of World Peace, which is accessible by ferry from the mainland. Dr Joe Hayden, director of the Transcendental Meditation programme in Ireland, described the facility, which features natural light streaming in from all sides as well as from skylights. The Peace Palace has 18 ensuite bedrooms; plans allow for expansion to twice that number, now that infrastructure including the landing dock, water supply, and heating are in place. The overall building design is also in tune with the local architecture. (read more) |
