Pakistan: Offering Transcendental Meditation and Consciousness-Based Education Slideshow

25 February 2010

In Pakistan, hundreds of people are attending introductory talks on the Transcendental Meditation Programme; a community of practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and Yogic Flyers is creating an influence of coherence and harmony; and initial plans are under way to offer Consciousness-Based Education.

A new Transcendental Meditation Teacher, Dr Ashok Kumar, reported that interest is rising in the Transcendental Meditation Programme.

Four hundred people attended one of his recent introductory lectures.* He instructed over 30 people in the technique a few weeks after he began teaching.

After visiting a community of Meditators and Yogic Flyers, Dr Kumar was inspired to create more such ideal communities. There are 225 Transcendental Meditation practitioners and 20 Yogic Flyers living in the region, and at least 50 practise together twice a day, everyday in the Maharishi Ideal Village, creating an atmosphere of 'Heaven on Earth', he said.

Dr Kumar also plans to work for the improvement of education by offering students the opportunity to enjoy Consciousness-Based Education. 'Our education level and literacy level have great potential for expansion', he said, so this new ideal system of education will inspire many educators. (read more)
