18 May 2008 Sunday's celebration marked thirteen years of continuous monthly National Coherence Days. These all-day events are comprised extended group practice of Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programme by Meditators and Sidhas at centres all around the country, together with a meal, walk, and conference call. The National Coherence Day project was the brainchild of Bibette Leadbetter, long-time Governor [teacher of Transcendental Meditation] and resident of the Maharishi European Sidhaland in Lancashire. She explains that the goal of these events was not only to provide deep rest for Meditators and Sidhas [individuals practising the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme] everywhere in Britain, but also to create a regular and powerful boost of coherence and positivity in national consciousness. Bibette recalls numerous events that have taken favourable turns after a well-attended National Coherence Day. For example, there was the resolution of a rail strike, the avoidance of anticipated terrorist activity, and positive stances taken by the government. Regular readers of Transcendental Meditation News, UK, will be familiar with the rigorous scientific research and numerous field tests that have demonstrated beyond any reasonable doubt the sociological ‘field’ effects of the Vedic technologies of consciousness restored by Maharishi. Just the square root of 1% of a population practising Yogic Flying together is sufficient to reduce crime, accidents, suicides, violence, and unrest in the whole population. At the same time, it increases productivity, economic stability, and governmental accord—even favourable weather conditions. (read more) |
