During the latter half of May, the New Zealand Transcendental Meditation Movement hosted the first-ever visit of its administrative head, Raja Wynne, who is also Mayor of Maharishi Vedic City in the American state of Iowa. Raja Wynne is one of a select group who were trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to have oversight of the activities of the world-wide Transcendental Meditation Movement after his lifetime.

Raja Wynne arrived on 15 May and immediately presided over the conference of New Zealand Governors, (TM instructors) at the Maharishi Spiritual Capital of New Zealand at Silverdale before travelling to other parts of the North and South Islands for meetings with meditators and influential people. A cultural highlight of the tour was to be officially welcomed onto the Tite Marae (a traditional Maori meeting house) at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands, where the nation’s founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840.  The following day Raja Wynne travelled to just north of the Bay of Islands where he was able to view Motueka Island, also known as Flat Island, which is owned by the Transcendental Meditation Movement.

The prime focus of Raja Wynne is to help bring the quality of Invincibility to national life through the establishment of coherence-creating groups of yogic flyers, which have a measurable effect on the collective consciousness of any city, province or country. This was a point he made to the NZ public in a prime-time breakfast session interview with host, Mike Hoskings, on Newstalk ZB on Monday 18 May.

Raja Wynne had come directly from India where he had been negotiating the travel of a further group of Vedic pandits to add to the 800 or so who are already at Maharishi Vedic City forming a major part of the coherence-creating group for the USA. In the past year this Invincible America assembly has eased over the numbers required to make noticeable improvements in the quality of national life. To quote new Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, ‘America is now starting to exhale.’ (read more)
