The Shankaracharya of Jyotir Math, Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Maharaj, blessed the assembly from the Kumbha Mela gathering in the area. Sanyasis, Swamis, Bramacharayas, and dignitaries along with millions from across India were attending the annual Mela—spiritual festival—taking place in Allahabad, at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the holy rivers Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati.
