| 7 May 2011 'The Transcendental Meditation Programme was found to be two to three times more effective in reducing smoking even though it was not designed for this purpose,' said Dr Michael Dillbeck. 'Practitioners are not asked to quit smoking or make any change in lifestyle when they learn the technique. Although standard treatments can result in immediate positive effects, there is often a relapse later. However, with the Transcendental Meditation Programme the effect increases over time because practitioners become more balanced and self-sufficient,' he explained. |
